We’d be remiss to not mention one of our favorite cocktails for this time of year. Sure, you know the classic Paloma… but how about our festive cold-weather take on the classic? Meet The Snowbird — a delicious and sophisticated concoction of tequila, fresh grapefruit juice, honey, black volcanic salt, and sage created by our operations and beverage manager, Pete Nasser.
Here’s the recipe:
1.5 oz. Reposado tequila
1.5 oz. Fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice
.25 oz. Fresh-squeezed lime juice
.5 oz. Sage-infused honey syrup (steep sage for five minutes in warm simple syrup, mix equal parts with honey)
pinch of black salt
Shake vigorously, strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice, garnish with another pinch of black salt and a fresh sage leaf. As Henry Craddock, the legendary bar-man at London’s early 20th-century Savoy Hotel, once said, the best way to drink a cocktail is “quickly, while it’s laughing at you.”
